Jackie Nash - Managing Director
Jackie Nash founded Global Color Research in 1999 with the desire to make colour trends accessible to all markets. Her creativity and 25 years of publishing experience has helped make her vision a reality, by creating Mix, one of the most beautiful magazines in recent times.
For the past two decades Jackie has been responsible for the creative input and content of an extensive array of international magazines and publications, covering all aspects of trend styling and information of the global fashion and interior industries. She has been a cornerstone of Global Color Research, creating Mix Publications, a truly inspirational and global trend authority.
Jackie's understanding of trends and business has been demonstrated by introducing trend and colour solutions that help companies put their brands ahead of the competition. She is also at the helm of Mix Projects, dedicated consultancy and trend forecasting services, whose clients include Comex, CPS, Dupont, PPG and RAL.
Justine Fox - Director, Creative Projects
Since she joined Global Color Research in 2004 Justine has worked extensively on projects for a wide range of clients, with skills ranging from colour consultancy, concept, design and writing to project management. Justine’s input has helped Global Color Research to become the company it is today.
Justine developed her passion for colour when she studied Fashion & Textiles at Brighton University. Later on she studied Applied Colour Psychology and she uses this insight and her wide experience in industry to bring Colour of the Month to Mix readers.
As well as working with influential fashion designers, Justine has worked on branding and interior design for a diverse range of industries including aviation, leisure, food and healthcare.
Justine is the editor of Mix magazine’s Materials section and is also a talented public speaker. She has taken part in some of the most exciting design exhibitions around the world: Heimtextil Frankfurt, 100% Design, MoOD, Interiors Birmingham, Interiors UAE and Stockholm Furniture Fair to name just a few. As a colour expert she speaks at many international conferences such as SDC India, International Colour Day Sweden and Hidden Art Forum in London.
Yvonne Melia - Art Director & Designer
Born in Manchester, Yvonne studied Graphic Design and Illustration at The North Wales School of Art and Design. Initially specialising in packaging design and illustration, she has since worked within all design sectors including retail, exhibition, branding and print, and more recently as a designer for a major charity.
Yvonne settled in publishing ten years ago at ITBD where she worked as Art Editor, then Art Director, on trade fashion and interiors magazines, colour forecasting books and related material. She joined Global Color Research in 2000 and is currently Art Director of Mix magazine and Mix Trends and is involved in the consultation and design of projects for companies such as Clariant, CPS, Dulux, Heimtextil and RAL.
Andrew Tucker - Creative Director, Mix Trends
Talent Scout for London Fashion Week and consultant to the British Fashion Council and the British Council, Andrew is a well-established journalist in the UK, contributing to many of the UK's leading lifestyle publications. Author of five books, he is also Course Director of the Masters in Fashion Journalism at the London College of Fashion.Andrew is responsible for the coordination and creative direction of Mix Trends colour forecast book.
Carolina Calzada-Oliveira - Marketing and Sales Manager
Carolina joined Global Color Research in 2006 to take care of the Marketing & Sales Department. Her work has been crucial for the growth of the company and Mix Publications. She has introduced new programmes into the marketing strategy of the company and manages client relationships around the world. Her sponsorship programmes, conferences and special collaborations are with international business partners such as 100% Design, Ary Trays, IDA, Interiors UAE, Interiors Birmingham, Modus, MoOD, NCS, Printsource, RIBA bookshops, Swarovski, and the Thailand Embassy among others.
She moved to the United Kingdom and graduated from Bournemouth University with a BA (Hons) in Business Management. She has since worked for IT, web developing, publishing and financial companies, including JP Morgan, eventually finding her home at Global Color Research.
As a member of the CIM (Charity Institute of Marketing), she is part of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme and has a postgraduate with this institution.
Tamsin Kingswell - Chief Editor, Mix magazine
Since joining the company in 2005 Tamsin has spearheaded Mix magazine. She has also worked on fashion, lifestyle and design magazines since 1990, when she won Cosmopolitan's new talent award. Since then she has worked for a mix of consumer and business magazines including a stint as deputy editor on Drapers Record, the fashion industry bible, and for the British Fashion Council and Commonwealth Institute.Tamsin has written two books on fashion subjects and has regularly contributed to magazines including Your Home, Period House, The Standard, Essential Kitchen Bathroom & Bedroom Magazine, PR Week, Real, Revolution and Growing Business.
Hannah Malein - Colour Trend Creative
With a background in textiles, Hannah Malein has been a key part of the Global Color Research™ team since 2009.
Her passion for colour and trends is seen through her commitment and input on the work she has done for many international clients with Mix Projects; including colour consultancy, trend direction and surface pattern design. She also works on Mix Trends colour forecasting book and Mix magazine as a fabric stylist and has a great understanding of interior designer.
As a speaker for Global Color Research™, Hannah has spoken at 100% Design, Decorex, Furnitex (Australia), Interiors, London Borough of Camden, Pulse, Surface Design Show, New Designers and been a panellist for the MoOD trend book.
Paul Gerreli - Marketing and Sales Executive
Paul Joined the marketing team at Global Color Research in May 2011 to help the company build and develop customer relations and lend support on various marketing campaigns.
After graduating from the University of Brighton with a degree in BA Business Administration and Marketing, Paul started his career with American Express where he developed his communication skills working closely with high profile clients. From here Paul pursued his marketing career with Coca Cola Enterprises where he developed the brand around London’s prestigious Canary Wharf area.
After 2 nearly years Paul left his position at Coca Cola to take his next step in his marketing career by joining Global Color Research. Paul has a passion for creative thinking and developing relationships with clients and consumers alike. Paul is excited to be working with the Global Color Research team and looks forward to having a positive impact on the business.
Poonum Chauhan - Graphic Designer
Poonum joined the creative team at Global Color Research in 2011. Having graduated in 2004 with a BA Hons in Graphic Design, she has worked for the past seven years in various areas of the creative industry from branding and print to exhibition design, website design and advertising. Being a creative visualiser and a confident communicator helped her to retain clients, including various non-profit organisations such as The Gandhi Foundation and Commonwealth Secretariat, when she became a freelancer in 2008.
Looking for a new challenge and for further career opportunities, Poonum soon found herself in the Global Color Research office. With a passion for colour and a love for all things tactile and printed, she is excited to have joined the team and feels at home in the creative hub of Mix publications.
Sally Davies - Colour and Trend Creative
Since she completed her Masters in Textiles in early 2011 Sally readily became a member of the Global Color Research team.
Having graduated with a degree in Textile Design Sally went on to complete postgraduate studies to push the boundaries of her personal practice. She is now applying her thought processes as part of her work for Mix Projects and Mix magazine.
Sally’s zeal for colour and design has been put to good use within work for international clients ranging from paint manufactures to product designers; combining research, concept and writing skills Sally has explored colour and trends within architecture, interiors and commercial products.
Working at Pulse 2011 Sally contributed to the running of colour and trend workshops, sharing ideas and creative knowledge. She also works as a fabrics stylist for Mix magazine pulling together the latest inspiring materials, utilising her passion for interiors and trends.
Mark Woodman - Trend Consultant and Representative North America
Mark is one of America's best-respected colour specialists and forecasters, and a spirited and accomplished speaker, making him the ideal USA spokesperson for Global Color Research.
His design accomplishments range from private residences to colouring an entire streetscape in Charleston, South Carolina. The Associated Press even tapped him to create a design for one of the famous White House public rooms, reflecting the new spirit of the Obama family.
He brought to life the historic colours of George Washington's Mount Vernon and created The Colors of Historic Charleston, The Carolina Low Country Collection and the Nashville Collection.
He frequently appears on TV and radio, lectures for prominent organisations like ASID, IFDA, IDC, Surfaces, NeoCon, and Furnitex, Australia.
Tanja Burmeister - Trend Consultant and New Business Manager
Tanja has a commercial background and graduated from the Cologne International School of Design (KISD) with a BA Honours degree in Design Practice. Her portfolio covers eight years of experience in consulting, marketing and design. She has worked in retail fashion for Marc O´Polo, Adidas, Esprit, Monari and Betty Barclay, developing and creating communication and point of sale solutions. Tanja has also worked on various trend consultation and research projects for clients like Tchibo, Shimano, Pro Carton and Karstadt Warenhaus AG.
In projects, Tanja focuses on combining trend, colour and consumer research to develop profitable solutions for brands, products and communication.
She has lectured at various associations and companies including Emsa, Beiersdorf and Fachverband der elastischen Bodenbelagshersteller e. V. in Germany and continues to present trend information around the world.
Annie You - Colour Consultant
Anni graduated from one of the top ranking universites in China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University of Art and Design on 2003, with a BA in Art.
She started her career in Shanghai with Korean paint company Samsung chemical as a Colour Designer, and was quickly promoted to the supervisor of the China color team. Since then Annie has worked for Akzo Nobel as a Color Expert and Merck as a pigment color specialist. Throughout her time with these companies Annie has worked on various projects for clients including Samsung Electronics, LG Mobile, Lenovo mobile. Logitech, Kia Auto, B&Q, and BASF.
Laura Perryman - Director, Creative Projects
Laura is a creative surface material designer and ardent researcher of contemporary technologies. With a background in textiles, she has significant understanding of colour, material and surface innovation in multiple industries from consumer electronics and automotives, through to industrial design and interiors. In the past five years she has brought this specialist knowledge into play for companies as diverse and forward-thinking as Nokia, Toyota and Habitat.
In 2007, Laura designed an exclusive range of interior textile product for Habitat and employed her knowledge of colour and surface product development. Most recently she has worked for WGSN as Materials Editor, working on seasonal creative direction before joining the Global Color Research team.
